#13 Write a will
I sit and watch the entire Six Feet Under again. The world's best television series. I have seen all five seasons once before, but when E decides that she wants to see it too my only choice is to see it again, but with her this time. I know when I will sob. I know when I will laugh. And I'm constantly on my guard and often glance sideways to see E's reactions.
Life at the funeral parlor in the series makes me think of death. I think of my own mortality and it does not matter. I must not fear death and I will not work myself up about it. I am an extremely reasonable person. I realize that I must write my will. And I want you to play Lou Reed's "A Perfect Day" at my funeral.
I sent an e-mail to a law office:
"Hi,
I want to write my will. I'm not dying, but feel that I want to do it.
How do I go about it?
Peace / Navid. "
I am waiting to get an answer.
One week later:
"Hi Navid. We can help you make a will. The cost is €140 plus VAT (GST)."
I would not pay over 140 bucks to set up my will. Surely it can not be that hard? It must be possible to set it up yourself. What can a few forms cost?
I write it on a plain paper instead.
'E gets my savings, my records and films and ugly dolls.
Povel gets my Mac.
Thommy gets my megaphone and running shoes.
Markus gets my old Super Nintendo and juggling balls.
Mom the reference books, pens and boxes of notes and photographs.
Daddy gets all electronics of value.
Sis may select five items of her choice (she is first out)
Soy gets all the novels and the old skateboard.
Then you should invite all my friends at a party and let them pick and choose over what was left over. It's that simple. And no one dressed black at the funeral. And do not forget Lou Reed. The band gets to play. Of course. "
