#142 Write a letter to an enemy
Today's guest blogger is Alexandra Pascalidou, a presenter, columnist and author. Her latest book is called Taxi and is a collection of stories from taxis all over the world.
Write a letter to an enemy. Someone you hate with all your heart. Someone who hurt, harmed or betrayed you. Someone that stepped on your little heart when it laid out on the cold asphalt. Someone who broke their word. Someone who got your world to crack. Close your eyes and write. Long and fervently. Or short and violently. Let the invectives invade or spray syllogisms. Write to air-out the vengeance in you and let the revenge dance to its own rhythm. Write to your enemy and tell him what you want to do with him. To rip him up, slaughter him, cut him, gauge out his yes, bite off his ear, tie a knot with him, cut his tongue off. Or say how you're hurting. When you've finished writing the letter, read it a few times. Let it rest. Take another stab at it. Open Pandora's box, pour out all the blackness. Empty every pore of hatred and bitterness. Let the paper drown in it. When finished, take the letter, read it one last time, fold it in two and then it's time. Put fire to your words. Burn it.
