#149 Make a love tree

Today's guest blogger is named Ena Andric and is an engineering student in Gothenburg, bon vivant and one half of TreeOfLove. She laughs all the time, has curly hair and paints.

A while ago, when I rode the bus to school, something was slightly fluttering in a tree near the traffic light just before Vasaplatsen. I glanced out and saw that there were lots of drawings hanging from it. I remember how I laughed and shook my head. Halfway up Aschebergsgatan it hit me. We humans are sometimes poor at showing appreciation. Sure, we show it, but all too rarely. Small words that can do so much are forgotten in the stresses of everyday life. I have long been a crazy about little declarations of love. It may very well be the best thing there is. I pretty soon realized pretty that I wanted to create a love tree. A tree dressed to the teeth with rhetoric that would get everyone to smile and feel good.

We call ourselves TreeOfLove and our idea is very simple indeed. We want people to send in various declarations of love to us. It could be a declaration of love for a boyfriend / girlfriend, best friend, neighbor, dog, bunny and the cute guy you see every day at the bus stop. To anyone. Then we intend to print these declarations of love, laminate them and then decorate a tree in the middle of town with them! We want to create a tree in the park where you can come and look at all the great declarations of love hanging from its branches. So gather the courage to write down a few sentences in an e-mail and send it to treeoflove@live.se

Bonus: www.iloveyoumorethanblank.com

Required time:
It depends on how many declarations of love you want to decorate a tree with. It can take from one hour to one week.
Cost:
€10 for the plastic paper, scissors and rope. In our case it’s for free, as we already have access to all the materials.
Cons:
That you can get fines and that all that declarations of love come loose and scatter (Which in and of itself isn't a problem since it might find its way back to the person you hung up love for, or they end up with someone else making their life a bit more colorful.)
Pros:
You have created a unique tree that is filled with meaning, love and strengthening words.
