Among survivalists there’s something called BOB. It is not jam or a System of a Down-song I'm talking about, but an abbreviation for something called the Bug Out Bag: A backpack that you pack with necessities. And then, when the end of the earth is near because of a giant dinosaur or a nuclear war, you take your bag and leave your home.
The most important thing to remember here is that you probably wont come back. So what do you take with you? There's no way you can bring all your Kent discs. I advise you to just take Hagnesta and skip the others. Then you could choose only one or two DVDs and then it's just as well that you take Fight Club and Spirited Away. That way you have something from both worlds so to speak. Throw in a few cans of tuna. Digestive biscuits last a long time, and try to bring as many tubes of energy gel as possible if you have to outrun a bunch of zombies. Notebook, USB-memory stick containing personal data, addresses, photographs and some old SNES games. An extra pair of chucks, some T-shirts and a laminated copy of Tintin in Tibet.
Then, simply place your BOB under the bed for easy access in case something happens tomorrow. Then you’re ready. There will be no time to hang around and choose. You will be able to grab one object: BOB.
Required time:
1 hour or less
Cons:
People may think you are paranoid. It can be difficult to know what to pack because you don’t know how the world will end. You simply must watch as many apocalyptic films as possible and mix your impressions with common sense.
Pros:
Once it happens, you are prepared.
