#197 Make up a dish

No one makes a cake like E does. All of my friends, both male and female, have talked about stealing her away from me. I wont let them. She makes the most amazing cake creations. And I don’t know where that knowledge comes from. Is she a distant cousin of Willy Wonka or does she just love cakes so much that she must do the best she can to satisfy her own pastaierie needs?
The weirdest part is that she never uses a recipe. She is the Miles Davis of cakes. She’s all jazz when she bakes. It's like nougat is running through her veins and her fingers grow almonds instead of nails. She knows what ingredients will go great together and which should be kept away from each other. Instead of googling the recipe on the net like other mortal girlfriends, she throws together the best cakes in an hour. Therefore, I have no respect for recipes. I'm tired of cookbooks. There is a magic that disappears. Of course we can cook. We are human beings. We love food. Who is Jamie Oliver or Padma Lakshmi to tell us how to cook food? Use your imagination and cook whatever you want to. You can make a curry salad like no one else before. Your friends will ask for the bun recipe and you can proudly stand up and say that there is no recipe. That it just came to you as inspiration. As a flash.

Please write the recipes for dishes and pastries you make up to info@365saker.se so we can put it up on the blog and inspire more people to invent their own recipes.

Required time:
1 day or less
Cost:
Less than €50
Cons:
You might accidentally burn a batch of buns or two, but it is worth it.
Pros:
You create. You decide.

#109 Give away presents on your birthday

There are some days when I have too much time to think. Then I usually take a thought and then I follow it for the better part of the day. I can add tabs for memories, comparisons, or metaphors. One idea that I like to follow is the idea of a literally speaking world.

What if you just took the phrase and lived it out literally. What if you chose "It's better to give than to receive" and decided that instead of getting presents on your birthday you would give away stuff, experiences, or services. Follow with the idea one morning, noon and night. See where you land.
